Cleric of Sarenrae Miniature

This is a miniature I converted and painted for my husband. The mini is a reaper figure #02401: Thomas Bronwyn, and he was originally holding a hammer with a cross dangling on his hip.

Before painting.I replaced the hammer, and added a Sarenrae icon.

  1. How did you paint the symbol of sarenrae on the cloak? Did you use a template?

    1. I used the chalk transfer method. I drew the symbol on some paper. Then I flipped the paper over and covered the back with soft pastels (my preference but you can use chalk or densely rub a pencil over the area until the graphite is shiny). Then you position the paper on the miniature, chalk side touching, and use a pen/pencil to trace the original lines you drew. This transfers the lines onto the miniature. It works best on large flat areas, but I find it helpful to transfer the outline of the object if it's a very small area.

This method is good if you need to make multiple copies of the same image (like the objective marker sets I've painted) as you can "refresh" the back. I slide mine into card sleeves to save and keep them protected in case I need them again.

If you have difficulty drawing you can still use this method by shrinking and printing out a picture to trace. I suggest printing multiple sizes of the image at the same time to save paper while trying to find the correct scale.
